Ocean Springs Cruisin' Music Schedule announced at Rosetti Park - click for complete update!
Rosetti Park, host to the Ocean Springs LIVE Free Summer Concert Series, will be home to the 2016 Ocean Springs Crusin’ the Coast Music Stage as well as “Chicks’ Picks”.
Cruisin’ the Coast in Ocean Springs, arguably the most popular venue during the eight-day Coastwide cruise-in event, is expanding its borders to give patrons more room to enjoy the live music lineup in Rosetti Park. The 1.9 acre commercially zoned lot owned by Roger and Vicki Applewhite, has been leased to the city for a nominal amount to allow the cruisers and other visitors a grassy spot to enjoy the music and look at the cars. Rosetti Park is located at 709 Church Street, between Robinson and Desoto, in one of the downtown arts and entertainment districts, where patrons can walk with their drinks around designated areas.
“We were happy to help the City out. When we were approached by Alderman Cody about moving the Crusin’ venue here, we knew it could work after having our Summer Concert Series. It’s a natural fit, inside the new Arts and Entertainment District, and positioned in a way to create more parking opportunities for patrons downtown to walk past all the businesses on their way to and from the site”, said Vicki Applewhite.
The actual address of the music stage has been sparse on local media sites, and even on the Crusin’ site itself, that still refers incorrectly to the Blossman lot behind Kwitzky’s as the location for the stage. But, a contract signed by Applewhite and the city in August paved the way for the music stage to move, expanding the venues where patrons can walk and enjoy the sights, music and beautiful weather expected this weekend.
